General Questions

The UPS Store in Henrietta & Victor storage services is called Rochester College Storage. We have been servicing area colleges for over a decade. Parents and students have relied on us to pack, store and ship items during college move-out and throughout the year.

We offer college students (and parents) an easy and very affordable way to store their college items in a secure storage facility. This alleviates parents from loading their car with college items that will sit in the garage only to be loaded back in the car a few months later.

Rochester College Storage provides affordable storage for your personal items in a secure facility. We offer free curbside pickup* and delivery* to your on-campus or off-campus location, and we supply boxes, tape, bubble wrap and labels, which are included in the storage cost. We can also package and ship any items that you wish to take with you.
Simply create a reservation online to reserve your space.  When creating your reservation, you will select your move-out date and time which can be edited at a later date up to 36 hours before the actual move-out date and time.  About 3 weeks before your move-out time, and if you had not done so when you created the reservation, we will ask you to select the boxes you will need for your move-out.  Approximately 1 week before your scheduled move-out, we will deliver supplies including tape, labels, bubble wrap and boxes to you. One day before your scheduled move-out, we’ll send an email confirming your pick-up date and time. Once we pick up your items, we’ll store them in our secure facility. While you are away on break, you will create a move in reservation for your new location along with the date and time. Lastly, we will deliver your items to you on your scheduled date and time to your on-campus location or off campus apartment*. We do ask that if your plans change during the storage term, contact us to arrange an earlier delivery date, a longer storage term, access to your belongings, or to have some or all of your stored items shipped to you. With our unique service, we provide you with packing supplies such as boxes, tape, bubble wrap and labels. We deliver these items to you on campus about a week before your move out date. We then pick up on campus, either outside your dormitory or inside your dorm room. We trasport your items to our secure storage facility and store them until you return. At the end of the storage term, we deliveryour items back to you on the date and time your requested per your move in reservation.

Packing / Supply Questions

We prefer all items to be packaged properly. However, some irregular items (e.g. ironing board, carpet, bikes, refrigerators, microwave, bean bag chairs, etc) do not need to be boxed. Larger items such as beds and desks do not need to be packaged. If you have a question as to whether an item needs to be packaged, please call us for our expert advice.
Yes. Our storage rates include boxes (where needed), tape, bubble wrap and labels.
Yes, you can pack your items in sturdy new/nearly new boxes, suitcases, plastic bins and totes, storage trunks, duffel bags, plastic drawer sets, laundry baskets, etc. You can use whatever you prefer provided it is in good usable condition, taped securely closed, and labeled on three sides. We do not recommend packing fragile items in these types of containers. However, if you do so, make sure they are wrapped in bubble wrap and protected from the sides of the container. We do not cover any damage for items packaged in these types of containers.

As soon as you realize you need more supplies, please contact us via email at [email protected] and let us know and we will make arrangements to deliver more to you. Provided you return the boxes you do not use.

Boxes that have been delivered and not used must be returned to us upon pick up time. Any unused boxes not returned will be charged to your account at the current retail rate. Any other unused rolls of tape or buble wrap should be returned to us upon your pick up time.

We do not have weight restrictions, per se, however we do not charge any additional fee for those items that weigh less than 50lbs. Any box, tote, storage container, suitcase, etc. that weighs over 50lbs and up to 74lbs incur an additional $45 fee. Any item over 74lbs incurs a $59 additional fee.

In order to avoid these fees, we recommend utilizing small, medium and large boxes. Small boxes for books, medium boxes for items such as clothes and large boxes for items such as bedding. Our small, medium and large boxes are recommended for 50lbs.

Yes. We do have personnel who are able to assist with packing. The charge is $125 per hour. Our service begins when we leave our facility for your location (15 minutes of travel time). Storage Questions

Yes, just be sure to securely pack them! The most common error made in packing electronics is failing to properly protect the contents within the packing container. When this happens, shocks received on the outside of the carton can pass through to the electronics, causing damage. You should consider the following suggestions when packing your electronics for shipping and storage:
  • Use the original boxes and packing materials to pack computers and other electronics to help ensure the safety of contents.
  • Use bubble wrap to fill open spaces and cushion your electronics. Make certain that boxes are securely taped and that your electronics do not slide, shake, or otherwise move around inside the box.

Yes. Rochester College Storage can store your furniture and other miscellaneous items including microwaves, refrigerators, bikes, trunks, rugs, bookshelves, futons, filing cabinets, and more. If you don’t find your item listed, note it in the comment box when you submit your form and we will provide a price quote when we contact you to confirm your reservation. We do our best to protect these items from possible damage. However, we do not cover any sort of damage claim for any unpackaged items such as, nicks, dents, scratches, etc.

Yes. We cannot accept hazardous materials, liquids, jewelry, cash, or other valuables. All packages must be packed appropriately and in accordance with our packing guidelines. Laundry detergent and other liquid materials are prohibitive from storing. If you do store those belongings, and they leak or get damaged, we will not be responsible for any damages to your items and you will be responsible for damages to other storage belongings.
Yes. Rochester College Storage can store and return your belongings at any time of the year. Our pricing is divided into 3 terms:
  • 4/26 to 9/5
  • 9/1 to 1/31
  • 12/15 to 4/30
Yes. If you find you need access to your items before the agreed upon delivery date, please contact The UPS Store in Henrietta at 585-427-8080, and we will arrange to get them to you. Additional charges will apply.

Yes we do. We offer storage for the fall term including winter break, spring term, and during the summer. 

Pick-up / Delivery Questions

Yes. We offer curbside service and inside dorm room pickup and delivery. Our pricing is based on the service (curbside or in room) you requested upon the creation of your reservation.
For U of R and RIT we have selected a specific date for the delivery of boxes and packing supplies.* For all other colleges we will arrange a drop-off time with you about a week before your storage pickup.

For U of R and RIT students, if you are not available on the packing supplies delivery date, we will schedule an appointment with you to deliver your boxes and packaging materials. *Specific packing supplies delivery days can be found by clicking the name of your college.

At the time of reservation, you will select your move out date (this is when we will pick-up your boxes). You have the ability to edit your reservation by simply logging in with your email address and password (the email and password you used to create your reservation). You are able to edit your reservation at no charge up to 36 hours prior to your date and time. If you need to reschedule within 36 hours, you must call 585-427-8080 and a reschedule fee of $69 will be assessed.

After we pick up your belongings, you can login and create a new reservation, for delivery. If you do not know your move in location or date then, we will send you an email in late July/early August, reminding you to create a reservation for your move in/delivery.

Yes, Rochester College Storage can pick up and deliver your belongings to/from your off-campus apartment. An additional fee of $49 applies if further than 2 miles from campus.

Shipping Questions

Just let us know! We will retrieve the items you need to ship, return them to our store where our Certified Packing Experts will pack them to UPS specifications and send them to you via UPS Ground or Air service. Standard packaging rates and UPS shipping rates apply.
Yes. While some smaller items such as a small nightstand or bookshelf might be able to ship standard UPS, larger items will require a freight shipment. Our Certified Packing Experts can pack and ship just about anything! Please contact us to discuss rates and options.
Yes. We have the capability to ship just about anything. Call us for a quote.

Yes we will. If needed, we can deliver boxes and tape to you. We will pick up your items on the date and time you requested. Upon pick up, we will ship your items from the UPS Store in Henrietta.

Pricing / Payment Questions

With our unique, easy to follow, pay for pieces program, you pay for the pieces you store. The storage amount is for the entire storage term. There are no recurring monthly fees. For additional information, please go to our pricing page.
Call us at 585-427-8080 and we can let you know if it is a standard, oversized or extreme piece.
Your items are covered up to $100 for no additional fee.  If you would like additional protection, we have protection plans available.  See the price structure below:
We accept Visa, Master Card, American Express, Discover or check (with photo ID).
We cannot accept cash.
Payment can be made at time of the reservation or you can make a down payment of $50. The remaining balance will be billed soon (by the end of May) after pick up. All payments are non-refundable.

Sign-up / Cancellation Questions

Due to increasing costs, cancellations are not accepted. If you are unsure of your reservation, use the downpayment option. However, the downpayment will not be refunded. If you have an extenuating circumstance, please call Jeff at 585-727-8973.

We encourage you to reserve a spot as soon as you know that you will need temporary storage for your belongings. We provide year-round storage. You must provide at least 36 hours before your selected pickup date to make a successful reservation.
